— Police are investigating a report that a man tried to lure a child into a car.

Police were told that around 4:30 p.m. Thursday a 12-year-old boy was walking on Admiral Street, off Sand Creek Road, when a man in a car yelled to him and told the boy that he needed help finding his dog.

The boy refused to help and ran home, police said. The vehicle was last seen north on Osborne Road, going toward Albany Shaker Road.

The driver is described as a white man, about 50 years old. He had tan skin, dark or black hair, with some grey in it. He was wearing a black knit hat pulled back so the hair was exposed.

The car is described as a newer model light grey or light green four-door with a small antenna on the rear of the vehicle.

The local school district office has been advised, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Colonie Police at 783-2744.
