We were glad to see Montgomery County penalize the Beech-Nut company last month for failing to create the number of jobs promised as part of a deal that saw it move from its longtime home in Canajoharie to a new plant in the town of Florida in 2010. The company got more than $100 million in state and local incentives, and the village of Canajoharie, home to Beech-Nut for 116 years, got an empty factory. ...
