Rotterdam Square to be sold in online auction

Want to own a mall? You’ll have your chance this week. Starting Monday, Rotterdam Square mall will be for sale to the highest bidder in an online auction lasting two days. The Santa Monica-based Macerich Co. has retained New York City firm Rockwood Real Estate Advisors and Auction.com to market the mall, which it purchased in 2005. Lots of rumors about this area have been floating around town for quite some time. Most of them pretty wild. It'll be interesting to see how the auction goes.

Could removing the Carousel have played any part? McDonalds didn't stay around long after it was removed! If you can't keep a McDonalds, how do you expect to keep an Express?
