Two charged with breaking into Providence home
PROVIDENCE Two people were arrested Thursday for allegedly committing a break-in at a home on Wileytown Road, state police said.
Cameron VanDusen, 20, of Southline Road, Providence, and Justin Miner, 21, of Maple Avenue, Ballston Spa, were arrested on charges of second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
Police said neighbors called 911 after seeing a suspicious vehicle in the area several times and observing the men stop and go up to the residence. State police responded and found the home broken into. Using descriptions of their vehicle, a Saratoga County sheriff's investigator stopped the suspects and found some of the allegedly stolen items.
State police believe that in the interim the suspects had gone to the Amsterdam area, where they cashed some coins and attempted to pawn property they had allegedly stolen.
VanDusen and Miner appeared in Ballston Spa village court, and were jailed in lieu of bail.
