— A Pattersonville man went to turn himself in to state troopers Monday for violating an order of protection, but managed to rack up a few additional charges in his effort to be proactive.

That’s because he showed up to state police barracks in Brunswick drunk, police said.

Police say that Dominick Lombardi, 42, arrived at the station with a .23 percent blood alcohol content — nearly three times the legal limit. He had driven 45 minutes to an hour to get to the station in central Rensselaer County from his home in Pattersonville, a Schenectady County hamlet, police said.

Lombardi was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and aggravated DWI. He was arraigned before the town of Brunswick justice and released on $300 cash bail to reappear at a later date.
