Suspicious substance at Colonie home found to be harmless
COLONIE Colonie police said a suspicious substance received in the mail at a Hialeah Drive home today turned out to be harmless.
Police said they received a call about 2:15 p.m. from a resident of the home and responded with the Colonie Village Fire Department, West Albany Fire Department and Albany County Sheriff's Forensic Hazardous Materials Unit.
No one was hurt by the substance, police said, but they are investigating.
No additional information was available.
