Gildersleeve’s inexperience and lack of leadership don’t belong in Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office

Michael Zurlo was the first candidate to announce his campaign for sheriff, the first to launch his website and social media platforms where he rolled out his vision for the Sheriff’s Office, including his communication and technology expansion platform. He is the only candidate to receive the overwhelming endorsement of the Saratoga County Republican Committee.

So while Mr. Gildersleeve may claim he’s the 21st century candidate, he’s nothing more than a follower with no real ideas. He has no experience with 911 communications, no experience with jail corrections, no experience with the local fire and EMS [emergency medical services] agencies in the county, and no budgetary experience with departments the size of the Sheriff’s Office.

Mr. Gildersleeve did not realize that the Sheriff’s Office was already an “accredited agency,” and announced that as one of his first priorities to address if elected. Thanks to Sheriff Bowen, and his administration, that was already accomplished many years ago.

Mr. Gildersleeve has publicly announced he does not support the Safe Act [New York state’s new gun law], and will not actively enforce it through the judicial process. That is all well and good, but a chief law enforcement officer doesn’t have the right to pick and choose which laws he or his deputies will enforce. The place to overturn the Safe Act is Albany, not the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

I applaud Michael Zurlo for being the first to emerge from the starting gate and announce his candidacy for sheriff. In the Sept. 10 primary Saratoga County residents need to vote for Michael Zurlo for sheriff, a true leader!

Ignore ‘playing politics,’ vote Gildersleeve for sheriff

As a former Republican candidate who ran for Saratoga County sheriff, I want to publicly announce my support of Jeff Gildersleeve in the Republican primary on Sept. 10.

I never would have imagined how political a race for sheriff would actually become. The party establishment has pulled out all the stops to try and stop Republican voters from having a choice in this year’s election. They even went so far as to try and invalidate the signatures of thousands of Republicans who had signed in support of Gildersleeve’s bid.

They pulled this dirty political trick out of the bag for one reason; they see how much support Gildersleeve is gaining. Voters are hearing what Jeff has to say and they support his initiatives.

Republican voters are tired of failed promises, they’re tired of being misled on issues, they’re tired of the status quo, and they’re tired of not having a voice in who holds public office.

They’ve turned to Jeff Gildersleeve because he isn’t a typical politician; he’s a true law enforcement professional with significant experience and qualifications that make him well-suited to lead the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. He has thought outside the box and delivered new ideas, like his 21st century Initiative that will bring the Sheriff’s Office out of the dark ages and into the information age.

Jeff Gildersleeve is the person we need leading public safety in Saratoga County; he’s well respected in the law enforcement community and his leadership abilities are glowing. Join me in supporting Jeff Gildersleeve in the Republican primary because he won’t play politics with your safety.

I don't have a "dog in this race," as I live in Sch'dy County, but did anyone hear Zurlo on Dicker the other day? OMG. He refuses to debate. The last 4-minutes of that interview were cringe-worthy:
