People who live and work south of the railroad tracks in Fonda will have just one way out of their neighborhood after next year, due to a recent state Department of Transportation ruling. The most unfortunate part of this whole situation is that Mrs. Doyle's death was entirely due to CSX's incredibly grievous negligence yet they end up a beneficiary of this decision. A fairer (but admittedly impracticable) decision would have made their trains stop & wait for cars & pedestrians to cross!
