— Schenectady police are asking for the public's help in locating a 16-year-old girl who has been missing since Saturday.

Police said Alyssa M. Jamacy, of 5 Elbert St., left her home after having an argument with her legal guardian and has not been seen since. Jamacy sent her guardian a text message early Monday, saying she was fine and happy living on her own.

Jamacy is known to frequent the McDonald’s on State Street and the Central Park area and also has friends in Troy, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Schenectady police.

Can't they trace the message she sent Monday, and at least pin down a general location?
