Area foreclosures see year-over-year increase

Foreclosure activity was on the rise last month across the Capital Region, except in Albany and Montgomery counties, where default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions fell off from June to July. Albany, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schenectady and Schoharie counties all experienced a year-over-year increase in July activity, according to the latest report from RealtyTrac, a California firm that tracks foreclosures nationwide.
