Scott Berliner isn’t used to mediocrity. By his own admission, the Cobleskill Golf & Country Club assistant pro hasn’t played as well as he expected to this season, but he thinks he may have turned the corner. Berliner, who is not only the two-time defending Northeastern New York PGA Stroke Play champion, but also the section’s Player of the Year over the last two seasons, fired a one-under-par 71 to grab the first-round lead in the club pros’ most prestigious event Monday at Albany Country Club....
