Foul was part of the fair on Monday, Aug. 11, 1980. Rain and cloudy skies marked the beginning of the Altamont Fair. People and farm animals still showed up, the merry-go-round still ran and sausage and peppers still sizzled. Mary Browne and Laura Panas were among the stars at the annual fair sponsored by Albany, Greene and Schenectady counties.
