Flash flood watch issued for region
ALBANY The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a flash flood watch for a large portion of upstate New York, including the Capital Region, through this afternoon.
The agency says a cold front will move slowly from west to east across the area this morning and afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms with some very heavy rain are expected. Rainfall amounts of one to three inches will be common with some areas seeing as much as five inches, which would be enough to produce flash flooding.
The front is expected to move east of the area by late this afternoon or early this evening.
