In 1980, summer pals meant a girl and her dog — and a boy and his frog. Donna Garry, 11, and her Shetland sheepdog Brandy were big stars at the Schenectady Parks and Recreation Department’s dog show on Aug. 4. Brandy won “best in show” honors, and Garry responded with a best-in-show smile. Todd Weiner had a lively frog. The youngster won the Niskayuna Co-Op Frog Jump, and received a king’s crown for the victory. ...
