Albany police officer charged with assault

An Albany police officer was arrested today by his fellow officers on charges of assault. Woody Riboul, 29, has been suspended without pay from the department, which he joined a year ago. Police said that Riboul’s girlfriend called 911 at 4:50 a.m. Sunday to say she had been assaulted.
