Red Cross provides aid to Kent Avenue fire victims

Schenectady firefighters work at the scene of a basement fire at 3329 Kent Ave. in Woodlawn on Friday afternoon. The house suffered smoke damage from the blaze. There were no injuries to the residents of the home.

— Volunteers from the American Red Cross provided assistance to a Woodlawn neighborhood family whose home caught on fire on Friday afternoon.

The two adults and two children from the Kent Avenue home were given assistance for food, clothing and shoes. The residents will receive help long-term recovery help from the Red Cross.

Red Cross volunteers and staff are on call at all hours of the day and can help with disaster assessment, client casework, sheltering, feeding, and more.
