— Another upstate New York tourist town is looking into the idea of casino gambling.

Lake George Mayor Robert Blais has scheduled a public forum this evening to get a sense of where residents stand on casino gambling in Warren County.

Officials in Saratoga Springs and Essex County have already expressed an interest in a gambling casino.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has outlined a plan to boost tourism and economic development by allowing as many as three resort gambling casinos in upstate New York. The proposal would be subject to a referendum.

Perhaps the 3 counties need to get together and market the area simultaneously for different draws. The Northway corridor could have tourists coming to the capital district for the casinos, entertainment, summer fun, horse racing, parks and shopping. I see a train from Saratoga to Lake George running several times a day with stops at the destinations or connecting commuter buses be a logical next project!
