Construction on the new Walmart Neighborhood Market at Mansion Square in Niskayuna is under way, on target for an October opening. Local and company officials were on hand Monday morning to ceremonially get the project going, as construction workers toiled in the background. This is the first time I've heard Niskayuna is getting a Walmart. We definitely do not need another grocery option. I predict one of the existing stores will close and then we will be left with vacant older plaza space. Why would anyone think this is a good thing?
