— A portion of Erie Boulevard was shut down for more than an hour today after a pair of utility poles fell near the Country Farms convenience store.

Police initially said the poles came down about 1 p.m. as a result of a wind gust, but officials with National Grid said witnesses at the scene said a tractor-trailer pulled the poles down when it became entangled in a power line.

Erie Boulevard was closed from Jefferson Street to Union Street until just after 2 p.m.

A National Grid crew is working at the scene.
