Freshman Will Clark scored his fourth goal with 2:20 left in the second overtime as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake edged Columbia, 9-8, in a Suburban Council lacrosse game Tuesday.

The Spartans rallied from 6-1 and 7-3 deficits to take an 8-7 lead on Tom Kenneally’s goal. Columbia’s Brendan Pursel sent the game into overtime on a goal with nine seconds left.

The victory left Burnt Hills coach Tom Schwan two shy of 200 for his career.

“It wasn’t pretty, but the guys believed they were going to be successful, and they continued to work hard. They stayed after it,” said Schwan. “They showed some resilience and Burnt Hills pride.”

Kenneally and Bill Chapman scored two goals apiece for BH-BL (2-3, 2-3), and Eric Dillon had a goal and four assists, his last one coming on Clark’s game-winner.

Sean Kelly had three goals for Columbia (0-3, 1-4).

Burnt Hills plays at Queensbury Thursday and hosts Scotia-Glenville Saturday in non-league game.

“Those games will have significant [Class B] seeding inplications,” said Schwan. “They’re big games.”

Adam Curro and Josh Frese both had four goals, and CBA held Schenectady to two goals over the final three quarters, in beating the Patriots, 18-5, in a Big 10 game.

Kwame Jarvis had two goals and an assist the Patriots.

Braden Kietzman and Ben Willows both scored four goals to lead 6-0 Queensbury past South Glens Falls, 12-6, in a Foothills Council game.
