Vehicle charging stations to be installed in Schenectady County

A Troy company plans to install 26 electric vehicle charging stations around Schenectady County, from the public library downtown to Schenectady County Community College, among other popular locales. Access Technology Integration Inc., a company that installs automated parking systems, gates, booths and security cameras, will fund the project with a $267,000 award from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. This is just another example of government waste. There really is no demand currently. All they are going to accomplish is the elimination of 26 parkingspots in the county. Charge your prius at home and stay there.

And most of the (largely unused) parking spaces will probably be the ones closest to the business.
With all taxes and fees, my energy cost is about $0.15 per kwHr. Wonder how much the fee will be on these?
I think it's a good idea to build some infrastructure for electric cars. But not with my tax dollars: it should be a privately funded endeavor.
