Amsterdam bus proposition up for vote today
AMSTERDAM Voters will go to the polls from noon to 9 p.m. today to decide on a proposition to purchase two new school buses for Greater Amsterdam School District.
The district is seeking voter approval to spend $207,246 to purchase two new school buses. The district is eligible for 90 percent of the cost to be reimbursed by state aid, making the district’s net expense $22,000. The money would be borrowed over a five-year period, with $4,400 repaid per year after the state aid reimbursement.
