Woman assaulted, robbed in Saratoga Springs: police
SARATOGA SPRINGS City police are investigating an alleged assault and robbery that occurred Saturday night.
Officers responded to the area of Granger Avenue just north of Caroline Street for a reported robbery at about 10 p.m. The victim had made her way to a house on Granger Avenue and told the residents she had been assaulted, robbed and needed the police.
She told police she was walking to a house on Granger Avenue and when she turned off of Caroline Street onto Granger, she was attacked by a man. She described her assailant as a while man in his 20s, short brown hair, clean shaven, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10. The victim said the man beat her repeatedly in the head and face while he was demanding money from her. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and fled the scene, police said.
The woman was treated on the scene by EMS and then transported to Saratoga Hospital for further treatment.
The investigation is continuing.
