— While there’s no guarantee the marquee stars from “The Place Beyond the Pines” will be on hand for its Schenectady premiere this month, some of the film’s other actors were enthusiastic about returning to the city where they filmed in 2011.

Dane DeHaan and Emory Cohen — two of the film’s younger actors — both said they’re planning to make an appearance at the premiere set for Bow Tie Cinemas’ Movieland 6 on April 11. DeHaan, who is now filming “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” in New York City, said he has every intention of turning out for the event.

“I should be there, actually,” he said during a red-carpet event for the film in Manhattan Thursday. “I’m planning on it.”

Cohen, who plays AJ in “Pines,” seemed equally resolute. When asked about attending the Schenectady premiere, he didn’t hesitate.

“Definitely,” he said.

Derek Cianfrance also assured he’ll be on hand when the film shot almost exclusively in Schenectady is shown in the city for the first time. The director insisted on having a local premiere when he was negotiating a deal with Focus Features at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Likewise, several of the film’s producers are planning a return. Both Lynette Howell and Alex Orlovsky — producers who also helped Cianfrance make the critically acclaimed “Blue Valentine” — said they’ll be on hand when the film debuts in Schenectady.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Orlovsky said. “We’re really excited.”

Ben Coccio, one of two screenwriters for the film, is also coming to the Schenectady premiere. The Niskayuna native now living in Los Angeles plans to fly back to New York specifically for the event at Bow Tie.

“I’m buying my plane ticket today,” he said Thursday, just hours after Focus announced the upstate premiere.

Details about the event are still in the making, according to representatives from Focus. And a full list of stars attending won’t be available for another few days.

It’s also unclear whether the biggest stars appearing in “Pines” —arguably some of the hottest names in Hollywood — will turn out, though their appearances could hinge on other upcoming pursuits. Bradley Cooper, the actor who played Schenectady cop Avery Cross in the film, is in Boston filming an untitled dramatic project headed by David Russell, the director who cast him in the critically acclaimed “Silver Linings Playbook” last year.

Meanwhile, Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling is preparing to make his directorial debut with “How to Catch a Monster,” which is set to start filming in Detroit next month. The film is expected to reunite cast members Eva Mendes and Ben Mendelsohn after their work together in “Pines.”

Mendes and Gosling are reportedly dating, after hitting it off on the set of “The Place Beyond the Pines.” In the film, Mendes plays Romina, a former love interest of Gosling’s character, Luke Glanton.

Glanton, a hardscrabble stunt bike rider, learns his ex-fling has had a child and turns to robbing banks after realizing he has no way of supporting the infant. Then, after a botched robbery, Glanton’s path intersects with Cross, the son of a powerful Schenectady judge who joined the Schenectady police to step out of his father’s shadow.

The chance meeting between Glanton and Cross spawns a generational conflict that spreads throughout the narrative. The film has met mixed reviews so far, but has been well received by local residents invited to several screenings in New York City last month.
