Girls’ volleyball: Eagles rally

Trailing after three games, Loudonville Christian School rallied to win the last two and down Waterford-Halfmoon in a battle of unbeaten teams atop the Central Hudson Valley League.

The Eagles won, 25-19, 21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23. Kimberly Genes had 26 assists for Loudonville Christian (6-0 CHVL, 8-0 overall), Katie Dariano had 18 digs and 11 aces, and Kasey Hannay added 13 kills.

The Fordians (4-1, 6-1) got 10 service points, 17 kills and 26 digs from Alex Lefebvre.

Michaela Miller added 10 points, 10 kills and 21 digs. Carly Howe finished with 12 kills and five blocks at the net.

Saratoga Springs got five kills from Rienne Dugas, five digs from Bailey Montgomery and four service points from Nicolette Bonaquist to beat Ballston Spa, 25-13, 25-9, 25-20.

Katy Rimawi had nine kills for the Scotties (1-7).

Averill Park (3-6 Suburban, 5-6 overall) beat Mohonasen, 25-10, 25-19, 25-8, with seven kills and five blocks from Courtney Fennelly. Abby Fisher and Hannah Middleton both had five kills.

Mohonasen (1-7) got 14 kills and 15 digs from Morgan Papa. Hannah Willey added 12 assists and five aces.

Bethlehem’s JoJo Steiner had 12 kills, and Carrie Maniccia had 22 assists to rally the Eagles (3-6) past Columbia, 20-25, 27-29, 25-11, 25-18, 25-18.

Shaker beat Niskayuna, 15-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-17.

Niskayuna (3-6) got 26 digs and six aces from Samantha Atchinson. Julia Nayar had four kills, five blocks and eight service points.

Riley Martin had eight kills for Troy in a 26-24, 10-25, 26-24, 25-10 win over Amsterdam in the Big 10. Rachael Eaton added 11 assists in the win.

Amsterdam got 10 kills, three blocks and three aces from Bayley Archinal. Katie Ressel added 13 assists and Meaghan Sherlock had 10 service points.

Ichabod Crane’s Megan Ford had 11 kills and two blocks as the Riders downed Mechanicville, 27-29, 25-21, 25-13, 25-18, in the Colonial Council. Katie Barber added 10 kills for Ichabod Crane (3-6).

Mechanicville (1-8) got eight kills, 12 service points and two aces from Paige Hansen. Taylor Hines added four kills, 11 points and three aces.

Fonda-Fultonville rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat Albany Academy, 25-15, 25-27, 21-25, 25-13, 25-14.

Cory Lais had nine aces among 15 service points, while Kerrigan McCaslin had 18 points and five aces. Gianna Mancini led the Lady Braves (5-4, 6-5) at the net with five kills.

Lauren Mahar had five kills, Julie Moran had four kills and Emma Soltis handed out five assists as Schalmont beat Watervliet, 25-14, 25-19, 25-22.

The Sabres improved to 6-2 in the Colonial Council and 8-2 overall.

Watervliet (5-3, 5-3) got nine service points from Amber Wells.

Schoharie improved to 6-1 in the Western Athletic Conference with a 25-20, 25-21, 25-17 win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Emily Peinaizik had six points, two aces and seven assists for Schoharie, and Ally Blyth had an ace and four kills.

Amy Frank led Mekeel with 13 service points, two aces, seven kills and two assists, and Anne Nelson had one kill, three assists and one dig.
