Boys’ soccer: Tartans unbeaten in Foothills

Dennis Turner scored two minutes in, and the Scotia-Glenville defense made the goal stand up as the Tartans edged Glens Falls, 1-0, in the Foothills Council to remain unbeaten.

The Tartans finished the first half of the league season at 6-0-0. They are 10-0-0 overall, with five goals against.

South Glens Falls got a late second-half goal from Travis Kirk and edged Queensbury, 1-0. Pat O’Mata made eight saves for the Spartans.

Tyler Stempsey and Ali Waleed Alalkawi scored goals four minutes apart in the first half, and Albany held off CBA, 2-1, in the Big 10.

Liam O’Brien scored a second-half goal for the Brothers.

Will Valle and Rafik Mekhaldi set up each other’s goals as Troy stopped LaSalle, 2-0.

John Moutopoulos and Jordan Newton both scored four goals as unbeaten Albany Academy rolled over Voorheesville, 10-1, in the Colonial Council.

Seth Scarano fired in three goals to lead Ichabod Crane past Lansingburgh, 6-1.

Brandon Bombard scored the Knights’ goal.

Jason Charette scored a pair of goals, and both James Galarneau and Jack Fitzgerald had one as Cohoes shut out Mechanicville, 4-0.

Jimmy Grega scored four goals, and Keather Brooker added three, leading Northville past Fonda-Fultonville, 10-0, in a non-league game.

Brahe Gazzelli scored in the second overtime, and Ethan Ross-Hixon made 10 saves, as Stillwater edged Hoosic Valley, 1-0, in the Wasaren League.

Tyler Carr finished a Chris LaCroix pass with less than 15 minutes to play as Hoosick Falls got past Schuylerville, 1-0.

Luke Bateman scored a pair of goals as Cambridge beat Granville, 4-3, for its first win.

Zach Hartman had a goal and an assist as Tamarac beat Greenwich, 4-0, in another Wasaren League match.
