DUANESBURG — The Schoburg junior varsity football team played in its first homecoming game on Monday, playing the Chatham JV to a 14-14 tie.
The team is a combined squad of Schoharie and Duanesburg players and is competing in its first season.
Ken Meyer, one of the team’s organizers, said earlier this year that the JV team will give players in the Helderberg Valley Pop Warner organization a place to continue playing after they outgrow the league.
The team and its travel expenses are being financed entirely through private donations for the first two years.
