Police: Mother stabbed daughter over dishwashing
TROY A woman stabbed her daughter in the back when the teenager refused to wash the dishes, police said.
The incident began Sunday night, when Caroline Mingo of Third Street told her daughter to do the dishes.
They argued, and eventually the daughter turned to walk out of the kitchen.
That’s when Mingo picked up a red-handled kitchen knife and stabbed her daughter in the back, police said.
The girl, who is not being identified by police, immediately left the house and walked to a Troy firehouse.
Firefighters took her to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where the wound required two staples, police said.
According to the police report, Mingo and her daughter have been involved in multiple domestic disputes in which police were called, but her daughter was described as not being “fearful” of her mother. They live together, and there has never been an order of protection issued, police said.
Mingo has a history of alcohol abuse, police said. She was charged with felony assault, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon.

I'm glad it didn't have a GREEN HANDLE!
Does anyone else think that sometimes we get too much of some detail, not enough of other? Did the handle color mean much to anyone else?
