— The northern part of I-787 in Cohoes and the Route 32 bridge into Waterford are expected to be closed until 3 p.m. today because of a fire and clean-up in Cohoes, according to the state Department of Transportation.

I-787 is closed in both directions from Ontario Street to Saratoga Street; the closure includes the Route 32 bridge, which is near the fire scene.

The DOT-recommended detour is to use the Northway and Route 9 to reach Route 4 in Cohoes.

The early-morning fire caused some problems with the morning commute for many residents of Saratoga, Albany and Rensselaer counties.

The fire is at Shelter Enterprises, a building materials and foam packaging manufacturer at the intersection of Saratoga and Van Cortlandt streets. The company is located at the Cohoes side of the bridge into Waterford.

For travelers heading south from Waterford, traffic is being rerouted over the Waterford-Troy Bridge into Lansingburgh.

There are no reports of injuries.
