Boys’ volleyball: Eagles win again
Kevin Mahar had nine aces with 19 assists, and Bethlehem extended its Suburban Council win streak to 34 matches with a 25-12, 25-18, 25-10 sweep of Colonie (1-6).
Myles Bergere had nine kills for the Eagles (7-0), who last lost a regular season league match in 2010 to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. The Eagles won nine straight SC matches to end that season, and posted an 18-0 mark last year.
Aiden Cawley worked for 19 digs, Dan Seymer had six kills, and Devin Sandmann had four kills and nine assists to propel Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (6-1) over Columbia (1-6) in three, 25-6, 25-12, 25-12.
Shenendehowa (6-1) got 11 kills from Josh Olsen, nine kills from Austin Jensen, and 22 assists out of Tyler Ostrowski in a 25-18, 25-19, 25-23 triumph over Mohonasen.
Guilderland (5-2) rode Jake Dube’s 15 kills, 17 assists and five blocks to a 25-13, 23-25, 25-15, 25-21 win over Niskayuna.
Nick Schwartz had 11 kills and 17 assists for the Dutchmen. Jordan Whittmore had 11 kills and eight blocks for Niskayuna (2-5), and Josh Miller had nine kills and four blocks.
