It's 4-0 for Scotia-Glenville girls' soccer
Scotia-Glenville got goals from four different players Monday as the Lady Tartans beat Queensbury, 4-1, in a Foothills Council girls’ soccer game.
Sophie Constantino, Max Culhane, freshman Gracie Mailey and Morgan Bailey all scored goals for Scotia, off to a 4-0 start.
Constantino and Culhane have at least one goal in every game. Scotia also became the first team to hold Brittany LaPlant without a goal this season, as Holly Sokol scored for the 2-2, 3-2 Lady Spartans.
Katie Herba had three goals and an assist, and Kylie Gifford, Ashley Vosburgh and Natasha Murphy all added a goal as Broadalbin-Perth blanked Hudson Falls, 6-0. The Lady Patriots, the 2011 Class B sectional runners-up, are 3-1-0, 4-1-0.
Sammy Blizzard and Paige Howk scored goals as unbeaten South Glens Falls escaped an upset at Johnstown, 2-1. Ellen Praught was credited with 20 saves for the 2-2-0 Lady Bills.
Miranda Haraughty scored four goals to lead Glens Falls past Gloversville, 8-2. Emily VanNostrand and Chanel Thomas had the Lady Dragons’ goals, with Thomas getting an assist on VanNostrand’s goal.
Macie Holmes scored three goals as Mekeel Christian Academy beat Sharon Springs, 7-0, in the Western Athletic Conference for its first win of the season.
Lindsey McCarty added a pair of goals, and both Lizzie Bath and Lexi Holmes added a goal and assist for the Lady Lions.
Erica Chase got three goals, running her season total to 12, as unbeaten Galway outscored St. Johnsville, 5-4.
Chase gave her 4-0-0, 5-0-0 team a 2-0 halftime lead before Jessica Hagadorn and Rylie Smith tied it with goals early in the second half.
Lexy Hennessy and Maddy Moore had the other goals for the Lady Eagles. Gabrielle DiPiazza had the other St. Johnsville score.
Canajoharie also remained unbeaten in the WAC as Jennel Dillenbeck had a pair of goals in a 4-1 victory over Mayfield.
Hannah Bowerman and Brianna Slater also had goals for the 5-0-0 Lady Cougars.
Anna Hussain scored the Mayfield goal, and Lady Panthers goalkeeper Jennifer Little was credited with 17 saves.
Returning sectional Class D champ Northville got a goal and assist from Lyndsey Wadsworth to top Fort Plain, 2-0.
Meghan LaPort had the other Lady Falcons’ goal, and Joanne Schulte made 10 saves to get the shutout.
Amanda Roney had two goals (giving her 14 on the season) as Middleburgh stopped Duanesburg, 4-0.
Kendra Wood and Taylor Cater also had goals for the 3-1-0 Lady Knights.
Daisy Sullivan and Megan Kardas scored the goals as Burr & Burton of Manchester, Vt. edged Hoosick Falls, 2-1, in the championship game of the Mount Anthony tournament.
Allie Martin had the goal for the reigning state Class C co-champion Panthers.
Somer Connolly scored a pair of goals, and Sabrina Sepowski had the other, as Maple Hill downed Hudson, 3-0, in the Patroon Conference.
