Soccer: Schalmont keeps it clean, 5-0
Schalmont is picking up where it left off last season.
The Lady Sabres went to 3-0 this fall with a 5-0 Colonial Council win Tuesday at Voorheesville.
Diana DiCocco and Rachael Gac both scored a pair of goals for the Lady Sabres, with Bianca Mascitelli adding a goal and assist.
Schalmont’s defense has not allowed a goal this season.
Meg Finnen converted a penalty kick in the second OT, giving Lansingburgh a 2-2 draw with Mechanicville. The Lady Raiders had taken a lead in the first OT on a Sarah Meisel goal.
Mechanicville’s Mikayla Gowett and Dory Fitzpatrick of Lansingburgh scored in regulation.
Morgan Loder followed a five-goal effort against Watervliet with four goals as Cobleskill-Richmondville blanked Fonda-Fultonville, 8-0. Maggie Tryon added three goals and Hannah Almy also scored for the 3-0-0 Lady Bulldogs.
Ichabod Crane got two goals from both Mikela Freeman and Mariela Jacome in beating Holy Names, 8-1. The Riders are also 3-0-0. Tatiana Emsslin scored for Holy Names.
Emma Hardy and Katie Melchionni both scored four goals as Albany Academy topped Watervliet, 8-2. Ailayia Demand had both goals for Watervliet.
Niskayuna, Bethlehem and Shaker are the only remaining unbeatens in the Suburban Council.
Meghan Doyle and Anka Parzych both had a goal and assist, and Kelly Hartlage also scored as Niskayuna beat Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 4-2.
Carly Finn had both goals for the 1-2 Lady Spartans, both assisted by Morgan Burchhardt.
Bethlehem got to 3-0-0 with a 5-0 win over Colonie. Tara Teal scored three goals, Kaylee Rickert added two goals and Katie Nickles got her third straight shutout.
Julia Lennon’s goal in the 57th minute lifted Shaker past Saratoga Springs, 1-0. Gabby Cotugno made six saves for the Lady Bison.
Freshman Meghan Cavanaugh, Sara Nasser-Elgrgawi and Jaclyn Romano also scored goals as Shenendehowa blanked Ballston Spa. 3-0.
Jess Capone had two goals and assisted on another. and Kara Carman added a goal and assist as Guilderland handed Mohonasen its first loss, 4-0.
Freshman Megan Lettko’s goal got Averill Park past Columbia, 1-0.
Sydney Moss and Madison Purcell had the goals as Catholic Central edged Troy, 2-1, in the Big 10.

Maple Hill bounced back from a season-opening loss to Coxsackie-Athens by beating Taconic Hills, 2-0, in the Patroon Conference. Somer Connolly had a goal and set up Lindsay Mannion’s score for the Lady Wildcats.
Pats, Brothers tie
Bebeto Richards scored an early goal, and Andrew Cyr made 11 saves as Schenectady played CBA to a 1-1 draw in its Big 10 opener.
Jhon Rojas assisted on the goals for the Patriots, 0-2-1 overall. Mike Wasalchuck had the CBA goal.
Rafik Mekhaldi scored a pair of goals, and both Brandon Dory and Adam Kaarstad added one as Troy shut out Catholic Central, 4-0.
Amsterdam moved to 2-0-0 in the Big 10, as Connor Kilgallen converted a PK and Taliq Sims scored in the 70th minute of a 2-1 victory over LaSalle.
Chris Schmid, Ricky Grable and Drew Lewis all produced goals as unbeaten Shenendehowa beat Ballston Spa, 3-0, in the Suburban Council.
Matt Mesiti finished a cross from Kledis Capollari with 15 minutes remaining to give Guilderland a 2-1 win over Mohonasen.
Austin McCrum had given the Mighty Warriors a 1-0 lead, but the Dutchmen equalized on a Mohonasen own goal.
Jordan Pierro and Tubo Akango both had a goal and assist to help Shaker beat Saratoga Springs, 4-0. Caleb Mellon and Danny Brant also scored.
Ethan Gunty had two goals and a pair of assists, and Liam Roohan also scored twice as Bethlehem beat Colonie, 6-1.
Tyler Casavant’s goal lifted Columbia past Averill Park, 1-0.
Tucker Wilcox finished with a pair of goals, and Mark Sylvia, Justin Marek and Ben Bellandi added one each as Broadalbin-Perth stopped Johnstown, 5-0, in the Foothills Council.
Jimmy Doty and Liam Mulshine had the goals as Queensbury beat Gloversville, 2-1. Thomas Kirk scored for the Dragons.
Cody Kostrzebski had two goals, and both Blake Snyder and Devin Hazewski added one as South Glens Falls topped Glens Falls, 4-0.
Schalmont got a Devin Murphy goal in the second half, set up by Gino Rossi, and beat Voorheesville, 1-0, in the Colonial Council.
Isaac Haner scored in the 58th minute, as Mechanicville edged Lansingburgh, 1-0. Caleb Foard made 13 saves for the shutout.
Justin Flanagan scored in the second overtime to give Stillwater a 2-1 victory over Tamarac in the Wasaren League.
Ian Cepiel of the Warriors and Tamarac’s Zach Horton had the goals in regulation.
Collin Oswald and Garrett Kerega scored as Greenwich edged Hoosick Falls, 2-1; Mac Anderson and John Lucas both had a goal and assist as Hoosic Valley took Granville, 9-0; and Will Nevins had a goal and assist as Schuylerville beat Cambridge, 4-0, in the Indians first varsity game in two seasons.
Frank Buffa’s two goals got Germantown past Waterford-Halfmoon, 3-0, in the Central Hudson Valley League.
Ryan Walsh scored 14 minutes into the second half to give Loudonville Christian School a 1-1 draw with Doane Stuart.
