Here is a situation to think about regarding the monitoring and profiling of Muslims, or the war on terror, or whatever you want to call it. About a week and a half ago two Albany men active in defending the rights of Muslims — Steve Downs, a retired state lawyer, and Shamshad Ahmad, professor of physics at SUNY Albany and president of a local mosque — met with two other activists who had come up ...

Ah come on Mr. Strock get off the band wagon you are on with Muslims will you. The police were only doing their jobs. Maybe they should have left their gun and holster in their patrol car(ha ha.) You forgot handcuffs, spray and other things too. And tell the recruits to walk around the block so not as many would be seen (ha ha.) Maybe they should wait until something bad happens and you get on your soap box and tell every one how they should have done it the other way. I for one give the Albany cops a A+ for responding to the situation in a professional manner. I hope and pray they keep it up.

Carl baby, your liberal roots are showing...perhaps you should run over to the Pelosi salon and get a touch-up
(or some spray paint).
Police check out all reports, it's their job. If they failed to investigate, you'd be screaming to high heaven.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I for one would rather err on the side of caution...and not be chastised for it!

Good work Mr. Strock.
I am amazed that this phony war on a concept got this far but then again...we've been there before.

Some of us might remember the playbook back in the day but most could not understand it because it was written in German.

OK, wmarincic (Mr. Sharia Law expert).
Ever read the Old Testament LITERALLY? Pretty violent stuff there buddy. So violent, they needed to revise it with an update called the GOSPEL.

So---
Here's the King James Version of YOUR rules (no doubt):

And God spake all these words, saying,
I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. (Nice dig on Egypt. What did the chosen do to get in that situation in the first place? Just askin.)

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Okay. Only this one guy is the big guy. The other 5 billions are going to burn in hades, right?)

2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image (Unless of course you are in business -- Go economy!)

3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain (Hey-- what did HE do to deserve it anyway? Slip up on this one & you can get arrested. Nice control mechanism.)

4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. (Yeah -- unless you want to shop -- Walmart and church same thing these days.)

5. Honour thy father and thy mother.
(Unless you don't get what you want then kids can just dial 9-1-1 and accuse mommy & daddy of abuse.)

6. Thou shalt not kill.
(Unless you are America or Israel or remember 9/11--Muslims don't count.)

7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
(There goes the greatest excuse to impeach politicians.)

8. Thou shalt not steal.
(Unless you are the government.)

9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
(Liar, liar, pants on fire!)

10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house etc.
(There goes the economy!)

Enjoy.

Some of us might want to lighten up a bit, yes?
(Time to 'get a grip' wm.)

Local law enforcement is doing an excellent job.
Not a major incident in 10 years for a reason.

But let's not get goofy--nobody is forcing Sharia law on you or me buddy.
Heck, we can't even follow our OWN set of rules and there's only ten!
lol.

Sparkys_dad unfortunately there have been several U.S judges in the last few years that sided with Sharia law, although their decisions were overturned, it did happen.

Yes-- wmarinic, I get it. BUT-- my point is this: We are Americans. By nature, we do not follow the rules all too well and the Sharia law thing isn't as flexible as our 10 commandments, so it won't work -- it's tooooo extreme.

Think about it. We are a tolerant, moderate electorate. That's why the GOP is collapsing right now. The platform is too exclusive, exclusionary and polarizing (at it's best). They can't stand under their own weight. And I am no democrat.

Sharia law will collapse in America because Americans have greater than a 3rd grade education. AND-- we respect women! This Sharia thing is no threat to me and should not be to you. (Too many rules -- Americans despise too many rules).

Keep up the good work, I look forward to your posts (as polarizing as they seem to be.) Just mellow out on the insults, dude.

As I said-- time to lighten up.
Ca plane pour moi.
(wink-wink)
