Scotia woman wins jackpot at racino

Kristin Snell of Scotia won more than $115,000 on Monday at Saratoga Casino and Raceway on Crescent Avenue in Saratoga Springs. Snell, 43, was playing at a Bally’s Quick Hit Platinum slot machine when she hit a jackpot of $115,222.14. She is a Gold member of the Player Extras Club and had just signed up in July. The most important question is how much is the state and the fed going to rape her for in taxes. I say almost 50%.

Got to love it, a state run gaming parlor just like the lottery. The state will take just shy of 7% even though they are profiting from the losers too. Feds get their 28% for being "unearned income" but if she kept a record whatever she lost can be deducted as gambling loses.

Give this person a break. No doubt she spent some since signing up in July of this year and the undeserving State and Feds get a cut, but she's got money in the bank. Did you buy your scratch off today?
