Middleburgh parents told to watch out for scabies

The Middleburgh Central School district is alerting residents that an elementary school student was diagnosed with highly-contagious scabies and other students may have been exposed. Scabies is a skin disease caused when a scabies mite burrows into the skin and produces pimple-like irritations, according to the website of the New York State Health Department.
