A woman and her two young children, one an infant, were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon for possible effects of carbon monoxide poisoning, fire officials said. The poisoning was not believed to be life-threatening, officials said, but the incident had officials cautioning residents to have their furnaces checked for problems as the heating season begins.
