— A 15-year-old city boy has been arrested for allegedly filming women undressing in a locker room of the Saratoga Golf and Polo Club at 31 Church Street, police said.

“He left it in there for an hour,” said Lt. John Catone, a spokesman for the Saratoga Springs Police Department.

Catone said the boy used a cell phone set to take video and placed it in the women’s locker room.

“He never got possession of the phone back,” Catone said about the boy whose named was withheld because of his age. He said the images on the phone were not shared with any other party or placed on the Internet.

A female club member saw the cell phone above some lockers and it was turned over to police. The incident happened this summer, police said.

Catone said if the boy were charged as adult it would have been a felony count of unlawful use of video surveillance equipment. However, the boy is being treated as a youthful offender and the case has been referred to Saratoga County Family Court. Police said the boy’s family is a member of the Golf and Polo Club.

Of course his family are members of the club - otherwise, he probably would have been charged as an adult. Money talks.....

Too bad - he needs to learn that actions have consequences.
