Five threats in three months, I wonder why I have not heard of any threats in private schools in years. I guess this is just one more reason that we need school choice (vouchers) to let the parents decide where they want their children educated. Oh wait, then the unions will pay somebody off with campaign money, or have they been doing that already?

Honestly, if a kid did actually bring a gun to his/her locker - is he/she really going to write it on the bathroom wall? For what purpose? So there could be a lock-down and police would find the gun in their locker and he/she would be arrested? They may want to watch adults jump through hoops (which they are getting), but I doubt they want to be arrested. A little common sense would go a long way.

My children go to this school in the 4th and 6th grade. It's a great school, unfortunatley, some punk kids. And this is a Magnet school, where the parents DO have a choice to send them to this school. In addition, for children, alot of them speak out before doing any damange...ever see one make a video..write letters? The school and the authorities are doing the right thing by getting the students OUT of the building. Imagine if they DID let them back in, and the threat was real? Then their kids could be hurt, kept hostage? Remember Columbine? this can happen ANYWHERE! even in PRIVATE schools. UNFORTUNATELY, this IS the kind of sick world we live in.
