There are not too many trains that come with a live band. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train with multicolored lights depicting Christmas trees, gift boxes, candy canes and snowmen chugged into its stop at the ALCO Heritage Museum on Thursday — slightly ahead of schedule. To begin with, there is NO ALCO Museum located there. The group was forced out of the building that they rented for non-payment of rent. They do not have another building.
I also have heard that the CP train stop was arranged by the Schenectady Floor covering, NOT the ALCO group which never authorized the activity to begin with due to liability issues.
The ALCO Heritage Museum is dying quickly due a number of factors including gross mismanagement.Don't give credit to this group because they nothing to do with the Christmas train coming to Schenectady.

Had fun seeing the train again this year with my family. But what gives with all the companies around the place blocking off their parking lots. Not very nice of them. Most were closed anyway. Doesn't make me want to give them business anytime soon!! Thanks to Chandian Pacific!!! Great event!!

So Starman, the story about the current building not being good due to heating concerns and the museum moving to another building on the site is a lie?? I also read the Schtdy Floor Covering co-sponsored the event with the museum. Maybe a lie too??

The heating problem is just one of many issues the group has. They knew that when they rented the building about a year a go. They were told that they could not make any modifications to the building when they signed the lease.
The group has no money to co-sponsor anything! The so called director of the museum lied and did not mention that the AHTS did not want anything to do with the Christmas train for that reason.
So yes to answer your question, it IS a lie too!
