Mason leads Union basketball win

— Joe Mason shot 7-for-11 from the floor and finished with 19 points, five assists and four steals to propel Union College over SUNYIT, 74-51, in a non-conference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at the Viniar Athletic Center.

Keven Donohue added 13 points and five rebounds for the 3-1 Dutchmen, who rolled out to a 38-21 halftime lead.

SUNYIT (0-2) was led by T’Andre Richardson with 17 points and Derek Rowe with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

SAINT ROSE 84, ADELPHI 68

ALBANY — The Golden Knights shot 26-for-48 from the floor and blitzed Adelphi at Nolan Gymnasium.

Tyler Sayre scored 19 points, while Dominykas Milka, Andre Pope and Dan Mundweiler combined for 45 more to help the Golden Knights improve to 3-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference and 5-0 overall.

Adelphi (1-2, 2-4) was led by Chris Ranglin and Bradley Simpson with 10 points each.

ADELPHI 80, SAINT ROSE 67

ALBANY — The Panthers held the Golden Knights to just 28.1 percent shooting from the floor and rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit.

Sade Jackson scored 16 points, and both Kelly Mannix and Jessica Kitrys produced 15 each for the 2-1, 3-2 Panthers, who placed five players in double figures.

Gabie Polce scored 19 points for the 0-3, 2-3 Golden Knights.

SCHENECTADY — Samantha Graver’s 15 points topped four double-figure scorers as the Continentals thumped the Dutchwomen at the Viniar Athletic Center.

Madie Harlem (14), Dani Feigin (13) and Eliza Howe (12) also scored in double digits for the 1-3 Continentals.

Brittney Kenney’s 15 points and eight rebounds topped Union, also 1-3.
