Homeless Schenectady man accused of rape
SCHENECTADY Police have charged a homeless man with rape.
Charles Keyser, 49, allegedly punched a woman numerous times in the face and head with a closed fist and then sexually assaulted her and restrained the victim when she tried to leave.
The incident happened between midnight and 4 a.m. Saturday on the back porch of an abandoned house at 1207 State St., according to court papers.
The victim reportedly suffered bruises and swelling to her eyes and face.
Keyser was charged with first-degree rape, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of assault and unlawful imprisonment.
