— The First Niagara Bank downtown branch was robbed just before noon today, police said.

A man walked into the bank at 251 State St. and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller then handed over the money and the man fled on foot, police spokesman Lt. Mark McCracken said. No weapons were displayed and no one was injured.

Police are seeking the public's help identifying the suspect, described as a light-skinned male and shown in security camera footage. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the department's detective division at 382-5245.
