— Dylon Cormier’s layup and free throw with 1.5 seconds remaining gave Loyola (Md.) a 67-64 victory over the University at Albany men’s basketball team Sunday.

Cormier, who finished with 16 points, took a long inbounds pass from Anthony Winbush and got fouled by D.J. Evans after Albany’s Jacob Iati tied the game with a three-pointer.

Erik Etherly led the Greyhounds (4-1) with 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Cormier added 16 points in a consolation bracket final in the Hall of Fame Tip Off.

Loyola led by 18 points in the first half and was ahead, 59-47, with 8:34 remaining before the Great Danes (3-2) began to chip away. Iati’s tying three-pointer with 3.1 seconds remaining capped a 17-5 Albany run.

Winbush scored a season-best 12 points for Loyola, and had five assists and seven rebounds.
