— A woman identified by the city as the manager of the Hamilton Hill bar connected to a fatal shooting last month has been cited by the city, accused of running a bar without a required certificate, a city official said.

Yara E. Tirado, also known by the name Jada Tirado, appeared in City Court on Wednesday to respond to the city-issued violation. She is to return to court later.

Tirado was identified by the city as being the manager at The Mason’s Club, 548 Schenectady St., and she is accused of operating the club Oct. 26 and 27 without a certificate of use, city Assistant Corporation Counsel Carl Falotico said Friday.

The city investigated the bar’s certificate after the fatal shooting Oct. 27 of 24-year-old George C. Lloyd III.

Lloyd was shot repeatedly outside the club shortly after 4 a.m. that morning.

He was taken by private car to Ellis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made.

The certificate of use at issue comes with city inspections to ensure the business is up to code. Such certificates require new inspections each year. If no inspection is done, the certificate is no longer good.

Falotico said there is no record of The Mason Club ever having such a certificate.

If convicted, Tirado faces a maximum $1,000 fine and 30 days in jail. An attorney for Tirado could not be reached for comment.

Regarding the investigation into Lloyd’s killing, city police Lt. Eric Clifford said it remains ongoing.

Police, though, are still looking for anyone who was there at the club that night who hasn’t been spoken with police to call the Police Department’s tips line at 788-6566.

“Unlike other investigations where we’re hitting roadblocks, people have been somewhat cooperative,” Clifford said. “But there’s been a lack of information from the people we’ve spoken to so far. There is still a lot of people we need to talk to.”
