Mother allegedly provided strippers for teen's birthday party
SOUTH GLENS FALLS Authorities are investigating whether anyone broke the law at a 16-year-old boy's birthday party at which parents claimed exotic dancers were present.
The party for the teen was held Nov. 3 at Spare Time bowling alley on Route 9, said village police Chief Kevin Judd.
"We're looking into it," Judd said, adding the department is still interviewing witnesses and trying to establish what happened that night.
The boy's mother hosted a surprise party and invited 80 people, mostly 14- and 15-year-olds, said Saratoga County District Attorney James A. Murphy III. He said the mother hired dancers from Tops and Bottoms, a gentleman's club in Albany. Authorities are not releasing the mother's name.
Murphy said the party was held in a private room at the bowling alley and the windows were papered over so no one could see inside.
Some of the teens' parents found out about the party and called police, Murphy said.
An employee who answered the phone at Spare Time said the bowling alley is not commenting on the allegations.
In a photo allegedly taken at the event and provided to the Daily Gazette, a tattooed woman clad in a bikini top and G-string gives a teen, allegedly the birthday boy, a lap dance in a dimly lit room while other teenage boys sit nearby, smiling, laughing and clapping.
