We would not be discussing this if the Democrats on the council didn't agree to the County Sales Tax deal Mc Carthy took after disregarding Councilman Riggi's pleas to follow fired analyst Jason Cuthbert's recommendations to force the county to give Schenectady their fair share...we would be sound.

The Democratic sales tax sellout sealed the City's fate. 42% of the County's population should receive 42% of County sales tax revenues. And not a penny less. Every single Council person except Independent Vince Riggi voted to rip off us off. Mayor McCarthy refuses to admit the Democrats have spent too much and given away too many tax exemptions Downtown. Governor Cuomo must appoint a State Control Board it get Schenectady out of this Democratic fiscal free fall.

The split in the Democratic party is evident between the Comptroller's (DiNapoli who supported Metroplex) and Coumo (The AG's Office)...Schenectady is with the Comptroller's offices side of party and not the Governor's...The Governor has made it clear there is no money coming to the city...we are on our own....They chose to disregard in doing the right and only thing in getting the fare share of County Sales Tax...But who would you get to support this when Brucker, King, Perazzo, and Mc Carthy all are connected to and benefit trough the County from their past and present employment status...

Reconstruct government in Schenectady County- eliminate divisive and inefficient multi layered bureaucracy and create a diverse representative government that enables the people to vote for budgets and referendums. Time for a modern democracy in Schenectady.
