Schenectady firefighters battled a fire today at a two-family residence at 710-712 Michigan Ave., near the intersection with Santa Fe Street in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood. The fire appeared to have started on the upstairs front porch and damage seemed to have been restricted to the upstairs flat, said Gazette photographer Peter Barber, reporting from the scene.
