@wmarincic

I want this newspaper to keep the citizens of Schenectady informed about the SPD. What is wrong with that? Any criticism of the SPD and you come jumping out to defend them. DO you have a relative on the SPD or is it just that you can't handle the truth?

What's not in dispute is that when a Schenectady police officer is deserving of being fired, it costs the citizens a fortune to do that. We can't afford this anymore. Whay should the already over burdened taxpayers pay someone to stay home?

Wake up SafeNy. It costs the State of NY to fire a trooper, it costs the City of Schenectady to fire a fireman or heavy equipment operator, it costs money to terminate civil service employees. It is the nature of the system. When the head of the city has the ability to be influenced by politics, this protective measure is necessary. Otherwise you have the Mayor firing people for non-legitimate reasons (like we saw with the budget analyst).

Amen.....The "Good Police Officers"......should fight for this to get rid of the bad apples that are spoiling the bunch....The PBA should be supporting this...but they are not....what does this tell you...They want to keep taking from the hand that feeds them till that hand falls off from the cannibalism of public servant pariah abuse of the people of Schenectady....Enough is enough......the partnership of the PBA (Conservative Party) and the one party control under Boss Gardener Machine is the motivator of this refusal to accept this ruling.
