Amedore knows what small businesses need

As a woman who owns a business in Rotterdam, I am supporting George Amedore for state Senate because to me, the ability to have a good job is the key to helping families.

New York is a tough place to grow a business and create new jobs. High taxes, insurance costs, and never-ending paperwork make it very difficult to expand and, for many, to even stay in business.

George knows what it takes to meet a payroll and what needs to change on the state level to help small businesses grow. More jobs and better-paying jobs will make all the difference in the lives of women and families.

We can talk about all the issues of our society and try to address them on the back end one by one, but we need to get to the root. When every person who desires a job is able to find one, we address poverty, hunger, homelessness, and build confidence.

We can choose to fix the holes in this leaking ship, or we can just keep bailing out water to stay alive. For me and my family, I prefer to set sail, which is why I am voting for George Amedore

Santabarbara has proven how much he cares about community

As a veteran and past New York state commander of AMVETS [American Veterans], I support Angelo Santabarbara because I believe he always has veterans in mind when he makes decisions.

Angelo is a family man who cares deeply about our community. After high school, Angelo served eight years in the Army Reserve. Angelo attended basic training at Fort Leonardwood in 1990 and served honorably through 1998. His service shows his dedication to our country and our way of life.

Angelo has continued to keep veterans in the front of his mind. Angelo helped bring the first AMVETS Post 35 to Rotterdam because he wanted to make sure local veterans could get together to be a unified voice fighting for our fellow veterans. Because of his hard work and dedication to AMVETS, the members voted for him to be the post’s first commander.

As a member of the county Legislature, Angelo made sure a program, called Helmets to Hardhats, was included when the new Glendale nursing home project was proposed, to create jobs for returning veterans. He also helped bring a savings card to Schenectady County that gives eligible veterans discounts at participating businesses. Angelo has never once voted to raise taxes, which protects so many of our veterans living on a fixed income from getting taxed out of their homes.

We need Angelo in the New York state Assembly to continue to fight for veterans.
