Shemirah Brachah

When a Japanese general was asked why they did not invade America he said it was because every american had a gun. Believe it or not, because we are protected by the 2nd ammenment we are keeping America safe from enemies both foriegn and domestic as our forefathers intended. When citizens fear their government there is tyrany, when the government fears it's citizens, there is liberty. (Thomas Jefferson).

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” (Quoting Cesare Beccaria)

Mr. Marincic - You are dwelling way too much on the third paragraph of the Brachah letter. It states nothing about changing the 2nd amendment. The general public does need far more education regarding responsibility and ownership of firearms.

Ms. Clayton- I believe I was spot on as had Mr. Zimmerman not had a gun he may himself be dead, I know as I was in the same situation only I had an armed robber and I was in N.M. Had it not been for legal carry laws the criminal would have killed me rather than me shooting him.

Neither guns nor cars kill people. Other people do.

At least guns have a lobby to point that out.

With cars, we continue to overuse the term, "accident". A Gazette reporter described a teen's recent suicide attempt, where he drive through a Rotterdam house, as an "accident".

I don't ever recall reading an article, "the home owner was accidently killed by 3 of the intruder's bullets", but phrases like "In the accident, the cyclist was stuck by Jones' car."

Is is people that kill each other using cars and bullets (and other things), not the inanimate objects.
